batch file programming....help

i need some help in batch file programming, here is my problem:
- i hv a program name xxx.cmd and after i run the program, is there any way i can make it stop and get the input from the user??

There is, I'm positive of that. Just don't know how. You should go googling for batch scripting guides.

humm.....i know there is, but some of the guide kinda confuse and win2k won't recognize some of the command.....strange......

Yea, unfortunately Microsoft forgot to include choice.com with any of its NT based operating systems. Im not even too sure whether Me has it but it is obtainable from a Win 98 boot disk.

Usage:

Choice /C:ABCD Please choose.

if errorlevel 4 goto d
if errorlevel 3 goto c
if errorlevel 2 goto b
if errorlevel 1 goto a

:a
end

:b
end

:c
end

:d
end

Instead of using the goto's a single line statement can be used
