I just don't get the prices. It's almost impossible to get GPUs at MSRP. I'd say it's scalpers but I have seen major retailers selling them higher than MSRP. Not talking about any particular architecture here. Just GPUs un general.

I was barely able to "score" a Gigabyte 4080 for $999. Apparently that's a "win" these days. Checking eBay I see them being offered for $1300-1400. Who the hell is buying that? I have even seen a *dead* 4090 being sold for $999.

High End Nvidia GPU's this is true because of AI/LLM. Everything else is either at MSRP or lower, and used prices for nvidia is getting crazy low. I have seen 4060 TI's going for as low as $120. 3080's are going for under $200.

The prices for the Arc B580 cards that I mentioned earlier are from large distributors or retailers in the central EU. The same 9800X3D prices are around ~$800-1000 in the same stores. 9950X costs ~$730, and it's a regular price here.

Where in the EU? I know there is VAT over there but damn! Is there any price variance across the EU?

No idea about used stuff. I never buy used and I never sell anything I have.

I meant that official distribution in the EU has way too high prices for some products, like the 9800X3D or now the B580 graphics. They get them via the official channel from manufacturers. Scalpers have even higher prices, but at least for the 9800X3D, they are getting close.
I live in Poland, but I often buy from stores in Germany or Denmark. Some, like Caseking, are among the largest in the EU. I also have access to official distribution, so I see the prices, but I don't buy from them for myself.
VAT in Poland is 23%. In some other counties, 19-22%. When I buy anything from Amazon, it automatically adds 23% VAT because I live in Poland.
In general, we have +/- the same prices as in the US, but +VAT. So, the B580 is still overpriced, not even counting VAT.

Keep in mind the MSRP usually applies to the reference model. AIB with more "design" tends to cost more, the more they add to it.

Looking at UK pre-order pricing - UK MSRP is £249:
OCUK lists the LE at £249, Asrock Challenger £260, Asrock Steel Legend £270, Sparkle Titan £260
AWD-IT lists Asrock Challenger £250, Asrock Steel Legend £260

Difference between the two Asrock cards is cheaper one is 2 fan, more expensive one has 3, as does the Sparkle.

This is near enough same as US pricing as they often just change $ to £ but not the numbers. It's often 1:1 or close to it. Just based on UK VAT alone UK number should be 5% lower.

Amazon UK £315-£355, the WEELIAO GUNNIR.
Marketplace sellers with low feedback. If you want to risk ordering a GPU from China with slow delivery if you get anything at all, go for it. Cheaper and faster to buy something from UK seller.

Zero interest in them, but had heard about this brand from the earlier Arc gen and some AMD, they look legit even if they come from Asia.

Many products from Asia on Amazon don't include tax and duty costs. This is why their prices are lower. Later, you get a surprise from customs (at least in the EU).

Product might be legit but it is the seller I'm questioning. In this case it makes little sense to consider at all. Cost far more than UK sellers are listing for other models, with the risks of importing. Again, low seller feedback, so can you trust those sellers? Even with Amazon protection it'll be extra pain to recover should things go wrong.

Problem with that example is they weren't cheaper but more expensive.

Sparkle is an old brand. I remember they had products 20 years ago. However, they are still deep in budget products, even though the B580 doesn't look bad.
Lol that 20 is more like 30 now :D

Google says they have been around since 1982 :O

I only remember they had popular cheap cards about 20-25 years ago, and later, we were selling them when I was working in distribution. There were many other weird brands like Club3D. Most of them are still around, but only in the Asian market. I haven't seen Sparkle in the EU stores for maybe 15 years.

Sparkle has been making quality OEM power supplies for ages. They were one of my go-to's back in the early 00s for solid mid range PSUs, and this was before Seasonic built their own and was still rebranding FSP.

Just had a look at current UK B580 stock status.
OCUK now lists the LE as unavailable. Was it a one-time drop from Intel? Other three are listed as same price as before, but pre-order.
AWD-IT have the Sparkle in stock at £260. The two Asrock models are pre-order at 270 and 290, so more than OCUK.

Interestingly OCUK say how many they "sold today", with Sparkle at 50 units and 15+10 of the 2/3 fan Asrock models. So maybe Sparkle has the volume somehow? This is assuming they only count units in stock as sold, not including pre-orders for more.

Intel LE version is supposed to be available in the second week of 2025. The same for all B570. It may change. This is only what I saw in various stores with delivery dates. In this month is only higher ASRock and Sparkle.
