BayBus?

I'm going building a bay bus but I'm going using an old 140W PSU to power the fans, the problem is that it can't handle the 7Volt trick.

so I wondering if I put a resistor in series with the 12v line and the fan would it run at a lower voltage.

It's been a while since I did electronics and I can't remember if it would work or not!

Do I need to make a potential divider???

All help appreciated


Just wondering what happens if i put the 12v+ and 5V+ in parallel with each other onto the postive of a Fan,

Do i get more power????

I'm looking for Rheo's but i have to buy them at RS could some one tell me what one to use????
I would be running 120mm Sunon's on these so i persume they will need to be high wattage!
