Well there was a similar thread on this but it did not quite answer my question. I have a V1.0 BE6-II , and just ordered a Slot 1, 100 Mhz, 1Ghz PIII... then I slapped myself in the head. Anyone know if the latest bios for the ver 1.0 BE6-II will allow the multiplier to be set to 10 for this CPU? ...and in general if this is going to work out ok with this board? It seems the dipswitch chart only goes up to a multiplier of 8... so I assume the softmenu setup only goes that high as well. I hope the Bios update 'fixes' that.

If anyone can shed some light on this... I'd appreciate it :)

Yep she will run at 10x anyways, and the 100Mhz FSB is fully supported by the iBX chipset. The only thing that comes to mind might be the split pane voltage, but my CPU also needs this and she runs and OCs just fine. Is your's a Slot1 or FC-PGA?

The worse thing that will happen is that you'll need to flash your BIOS with an upgrade. Most newer mobos, especially Abit, are pretty good about automatically sensing multipliers.

I'm using the same board, rev1. I recently updated the BIOS to the "XU" rev so I could put a 700e in there. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe the default settings go to 11x. Doesn't really matter though since the chip will be multiplier locked. Just change the FSB to whatever runs the most stable for you.

Don't worry - I used to have P3 1GHz/100 on this mobo - worked with no problem - apart from that now it is "gone". I don't know the reason but it wasn't P3 fault (hope so) :)

BE6-II bios wont go more than 933MHz if not mistaken. I use bx133 raid bios for my be6-ii board and it works fine and the bios will take up to 1 gig cpu. You might want to try it at your own risk, of course...

Well I´m a newbie...:)

If´ve just updated my BE-II to Bios XU and it works fine.
I found that there are now more presets CPU´s types.
There also now support for PIII 1Ghz 133FSB...and that´s
what I don´t get. I still think this Mobo only support FSB100 as
a present ? Is there an 1Ghz PIII 133FSB Slot1 out to sell ?

Right now..and I began with all that overclocking stuff just 2 weeks ago...I use a PIII 550Mhz FSB100 Slot1 @ 594
It´s still stabil at 108FSB but I´m afraid to go higher because I
don´t understand all the other settting regarding the FSB.

May someone give my a hand on all those setting..? thx
By the way I´m still only using 2x128PC100 Dimms !!

I also maybe going to buy a better CPU for that Mobo.
But now I´m need help because I thought I only could put
an 100FSB Slot1 CPU in. 850MHZ100FSB or "after this post"
should I search for a 1GHZ100FSB...hmmm
You those Slot P3`s are hard to get in germany.

Thx

BX boards tend not to like running 133mhz or more thou many have had success.
The agp bus gets pretty far out of spec. when you start going over 140mhz.
There are still 1ghz slot 1 cpu's around in 100 and 133fsb.
Some people use a slotket wich is a converter to run a fc-pga cpu on a slot type board.

So the 1GHZ Slot1 100FSB CPU would be the better choice as it will run at 10x100FSB ?
But there is now present for the CPU. I´m wondering why there is one for 1GhzFSB133 and not 100FSB.
@MKa11: How did you set up the 1GhzSlot1 100FSB ?

Thx for the replay....
