I'm new to setting up RAID, and I'm not able to load the OS...

Here's what I'd doing:

Going into BIOS, setting all boot devices to ATA100 and then setting up the RAID for my two hard drives (20 gig ATA/66 WDs) both are mastered on each bus of the ATA chipset.

So I configure the RAID for RAID 0 as shown in the little Hotrod 100 manual that comes with the board and it reboots fine...but it won't boot off of anything. Naturally it won't boot off of the hard disks, since there isn't an OS on them, but it won't boot of the floppy or CD since the RAID has to be set to ATA100 for all boot devices. I've tried copying the cabinets over in DOS with the RAID disabled, then sys'ing the drive but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

In the Highpoint configuration screen (where you set up the initial RAID), I believe you need to make one of the disks your boot disk. I have the same board but am using RAID 1, and have to set this. Not sure if it works that way with RAID 0, but may be worth a shot. Also, change your primary boot device from ATA/100 to floppy. Keep the 2nd and 3rd ones as ATA/100.

As I understand it you are trying to set up the striping for a speed boost. You have to set all 3 boot devices to the scsii to enable the raid controller. after you set up the raid you can't boot from anything to install an OS.
And if you change the boot sequence after the raid is set up then what?

ledduck8 is right, i have the same mobo set up with raid 0 and you do indeed have to select a boot drive in the highpoint bios after you set up your raid. Once you have that done it should be recognized as a drive and you should be able to use a boot disk and then fdisk it or just format it. then copy your cab files to install windowz. If that is what your after.
Post what the system will consist of when it's done please.
