Ok I Seem To Be Running Into A Problem With My ABIT Board And My WD ATA/100 Hard Drive

If I Plug The Hard Drive Into The Regular IDE Ports
1 Or 2 It Boots Up As A UMDA 33

So I Plugged It Into The Raid IDE Ports 3 And 4
But When The System Didn't Find The Hard Drive
I Enabled Raid In Bios

Now When Windows 98 Boots Up It Finds The Hard Drive And The PCI Mass Storage Device.
But When I Install The Highpoint Drivers
On Reboot I Get The Blue Screen Of Death

My Question Is What Am I Doing Wrong
Please Help... Any Help Would BE Greatly Appreciated

Oh By The Way System Specs.

ABIT BE6II Ver. 2.0
PIII 800
256 Megs PC 100 Ram
ATA/100 Western Digital Drive
V5 5500 AGP Video
And A Sound Blaster Live
Oh Yea And A 3com NIC

Thanks In Advance

You shouldn't have to enable raid with only one drive..just set it as the boot device....but I would try to load the drivers, before switching the cables over, and I would make sure they are there in the device manager..and it would be under scsi devices...Hipoint yata yata,..and see if that is the version you expected, or if it needs updating..you could do it there.
You are using the 80 conductor cable right? and you pluged the correct end into the mobo, right?

In the hipoint bios (ctrl H ) highlight "select boot drive" and and your hdd should show up below, and if it's the only drive, it will already be highlighted, and just press enter, and esc out, and reboot. Hope this helps
