Ok so my duron700 and Ati32Mb computer is a bit slow... But im going to make up for it Im going to build new comp. Was wonderin What Motherboard, Proccessor and Ram to get in order to make an Overclocking friendly comp. I had my eyes on a p4 2.4 800Fsb but thats the only part that I even have an idea about, Any Thoughts?

ps-This is my first post, so if its in the wrong forum...sorry

this sounds like a good place to start, you might want to move to the intel forums once your sure on intel. for ram i would reccomend coarsair XMS PC3500 and for mobo the Intel Bonanza which actually allows OCing on an intel board. Im no expert with the new c chips so dong go just on my recomendation-wait for some other posts and see if they agree with me, people may know of an abit or asus that would do better.

are you dead set on intel?

The AMD Barton 2500+ is a good overclocker.

nforce2 boards are the best for the AMD platform right now.

get the fastest RAM you can afford...and get a good name brand at that.

if you plan a strong overclock, you should get AMD proc. I don't know a lot on INTEL proc so might not be the good guy to ask but with AMD, you're almost sure to get a good overclock.

Corsair ram or OCZ (i didn't find 2 website with the same conclusion so...). My first choice would be the OCZ but surely someone else gonna tell you the Corsair is better. ;)

for the mobo, get the Abit NF7-S. Cost less than the Asus or the Epox and got alot of o/c setting.

i'm waiting for my new proc and mem to push this board more far but with everything been wrote on this mobo, you can hardly lost your money if you buying it.
