Anyone recommend a good geforce 3 card? Im looking at gainward and the asus one right now.......not sure which is reall bettter though in performance.......i play video games and watch dvds.

This question comes down to preference. Personally, I only buy brand name(s) because they tend to have better support, warranty, and return policies.

As for which brand, that's up to you. The Visiontek performs as well as the Hercules or Leadtek, but costs $50 less. $50 is a lot for a particular brand name.

the new card from a company called morpheous is supposed to be relly good. And it is cheaper than all the other cards out other than that i would go with gainward cause it can overclock better than any other card

Visiontek all the way! I have one, 235/545 overclocked stable.

Elsa cards are actually made by Visiontek.

The Asus is good for extra games, but for raw performance and price, get a Visiontek !

The cards are all the same besides certain features like the software bundle, DVI-out, TV-in/out, and the color of the card itself. If it were me I'd go for the cheapest one, as I don't care about any of that stuff, I don't even need the drivers! :)

The MSI tends to be the cheapest, but it's also the only one that doesn't have ram heatsinks.

well the chipsets are the same you sometimes tend to get older slower ram modules on them and not to mention the HSF "or just a plain old HS" is only placed on the chipset with some crappy old doublesided stickum'. but i guess the average overclocker would rip it of and put somthing worth a damn on there, but the memory is there to stay

i just read a test with all the gf3's out right now and the ledtek came out on top of all of them. The gainward has the best hardsware though and the asus has the best software. I just ordered the gainward because it has the dvi port for digital monitors

OC community,

No offense to the other but I've done some serious research and because I'm going and getting one after work, I can put my money where my mouth is: Get the gainward G3 Powerpack !!!. The non DVI and non vid in out model is $305 US with fast DDR and the now legendary G3 Core.

msi only shipped out 1000 cards without ram heatsinks. The gave a bucha cards to people for reveiwen and sold some to get feedback and came out with a far supieor card. So I like the looks of the gainward, msi, visiontek, or asus cards. It all depends on extras i guess.
