iv never seen this v card the albatron so fare i like it look good went to newegg what do you think of the gf4 turbo for 185 in the reviews it look like its not overclocking to good now y would it do that now is it a old card now still would like to get it but dont know now???? ty

I had decided to buy the Albatron Ti4600, but now I'm starting to hear crappy things about the Albatron Ti4200 Turbo, so I don't know what to think. I'm so confused. Maybe I'll get the Abit Ti4600, but dang that's $250 and I just know the prices will drop like a rock as soon as the GeForce FX arrives.

i really loved my Albatron 4200 while it was with me(killed it during the process of swapping hsf...) with a little oc, i could get 116XX out of it, same as my 9500pro at default speed. Baybay, if you really want 8x agp, then for those NV28 cards, they are great ocers, and with those super flashy cooling system..me like it very much ;p

imho the difference between all those cards is marginal, abit's uber cooling hasnt proven to be anything spectacular and i would personally save money and get an MSI4200..of course thats probably not what i would do, but ill respect your wishes;)

The MSI Ti4200 is a good bargain.

Yup sure is a good bargin. I went from a Jaten Geforce 2 Mx 400 to an MSI Geforce4 TI 4200 (128 megs) and I love it. I can actually play Morrowind now and not have the screen all jerkey. If I put my 2 cents in here I would say this card is good.

well i just got the abit siluro otes 128 gf4 ti 4200 dont know how it well do but well try its xmass day as soon as i can ill get it in to try it out holp its not to bad

I like the ABit, but I'm partial to ABit products.

Personally, I'd go with the Siluro over the Albetron Ti4600. You save $36 and you can bet that ABit will be a sweet O/Cer. As far as Albetron is concerned, the only quality product they have put out is the Turbo and thats not even that good anymore since they changed the ram, IMO. The Siluro is really a Ti4400 too, so $194 about what they go for anyway, plus you get the neat cooling system that won't need to be improved like most other cards (saving you some cash).

Wow, I thought this thread had died a few weeks ago. Well, I still have NOT bought a new card. Decided to wait to see if prices would drop a bit. To my horror prices actually climbed some. Yikes!

Also, newegg.com seems to now be out of stock on half the cards I was considering. The Abit Siluro Ti4200 OTES was the only one that dropped in price (but only a couple bucks). Yep, I keep eyeballing the MSI cards, they are pretty decent.

Hey Bknight, report back on how your Abit does. I'll be interested on knowing what you think of it. However... I'm really sort of leaning towards a Ti4600 now, but just wish the prices would come down a little more ($250 is a lot of cash, even if I can afford it).

Been checking prices and discovered the Abit Silura Ti4200 OTES is $186.49 (US shipped) at Googlegear compared to $192.00 (US shipped) at Newegg.

Googlegear has the MSI Ti4200 4X AGP for $155.49 shipped, not too shabby.

But, in trying to find the max card for under $200, I found the Gainward Ti4400 Golden Sample (3.6 ns BGA memory) for $193 at newegg, com, which sounds like a pretty good deal. What's the word on Gainward? I'm having trouble finding any recent reviews.

NOTE: these are all 128 meg cards.

i do know that the Gainward Ti4200s had an amazing amount of problems with Pink Screens of Death

i well let you know how it is but the box look cool lol my mobo dont have 8x but the card duss well see as soon as i can

man the box look cool lol as soon as i can get the time to put it in i well let you all know how it duss but my mobo dont have the 8x owell lets see

Yes, there is a difference. In addition to the special exhaust cooler, the OTES core is clocked faster (275 instead of 250) and it has faster memory too (550 instead of 500). Basically, it's clocked at default about like a standard Ti4400. I saw one review where they had overclocked it to Ti4600 default speeds.

That's cool. Don't stop scheming and looking for deals. Right now there are several Ti4200 cards that are clocked at or near Ti4400 speeds. The Abit Siluro OTES is one, the Albatron Turbo is another, and the Asus V9280S-TVD is a third (not to be confused with the V9280-TD which is a regular Ti4200). There might be more, but those are the ones I know about for sure.

hi batboy and all well got it in all i and say is outstanding installed good no prb core is at stock settings of 275 mem is at 500 the chips ar samsungs 2.35 so i dont know if thats good or not i have no way to tell how hot it gets but i can tell by the way the wm air out the back it duss take two pci slots up . ok i have not tryed to overclock it yet but ill post when i do if you are needing a new card look at this one y i got this one well it look like a gf fx if thy are going to copey a abit it must be ok card lol

You might try leaving the core at 280 or 290 and see if you can jack up the memory a little higher. Sure would be nice to get it up to 600 MHz. If you can run a stable 275/550, then that's the same speed as the standard Ti4400 vid card.
