2 questions...

What is the best media player? For some reason music I play on MEdiaSource that I got from my X-Fi card sounds ALOT better than say on Winamp, playing the same MP3 file... I dont know how this is possible?

Also I like Winamp cause of the radio options it has, but I like using the controller from X-fi too... is there a plugin where I can use my Xi-Fi controler for Winamp?

I havent used the Media Source program, but its pretty likely that it applies some sort of EQ or uses the crystalizer automaticaly. I generaly don't like to use anything like that, though ocasionly I do turn the low end up a touch.

I use iTunes with foorbar as a backend. Works very well, because iTunes hasa great interface and foobar is really great for playback, but is lacking as far as the interface goes. If you are interestd in giving that a try you will need Multi Plugin for iTunes.

im a winamp person, but foobar sounds interesting, i could NEVER get winamp to optput to 5.1 right, not even with video files encoded for it. tried many plugins and such, none did just trning on the other channels, they had to all add other effects nd crap you cant turn off.

You guys are gonna hate me for this :argue: . I dropped Winamp for iTunes. Simple, better organised. Not a thing you can customize but it's got a great EQ and THE Best iRadio I have ever used. You can use a program to record all the life tunes you want.

Just my pref. :santa:

I like Winamp's visualization plugins. 'Acid Spunk' full screen is my fave. I'm keeping a close eye on Winamp as it's now owned by AOL. I'm keeping all the pre AOL installers just in case I have to revert back due to AOL spamming.

I dont know what crack you guys are smoking but i tried using foobar and it just sucked for organization. I have 4400 songs and Winamp 5.something pro works the best as a library. iTunes and Windows media player are basically the same thing only i tunes is more presentable and trendy. Winamp just has teh best overall organization, ive used them all and for a library winamp wins.

can someone exlpain to me how to use plugins for FooBar? Its really isnt 'user friendly'.

I downloaded the channel mixer plugin and dont know how to upload it. Been trying to figure this out in like a hour. Thanks guys!
