I have this cheap generic optical mouse made by MICRO innovations. The piece of crap left button works when it feels like it. Thats the only problem with this mouse. Today I was playing CS and I couldn't even shoot. As soon as I get a replacement Im going to beat it with a hammer:mad: What should I go with Micro$oft or Logitech?

Personally, I say Logitech. Have nothing against Microsoft's optical mice, they just run a little on the higher side than Logitech does and I happen to like them a little better.

before last night I would have said logitech in a heartbeat, but now I would be reluctant, I have a cordless optical and its been freezing up every 2 hours or so... new batteries and everything... and their customer support did absolutely nothing 4 me, although I do hear lost of good stuff about that 2x optical... hard to say, my opinion is kinda swayed right now do to the fact I keep having to reboot because of my mouse....

You can pick up a logitech optical online for well under $20. It's an excellent mouse for a fraction of the price of most. For that price you don't have to be scared to do mods to it...(i.e. green LED swap and paint).

I say Microsoft bro! I bought my first Intellimouse about 2 years ago. Something happened to it within the first year, so I sent it to Microsoft and told them it was a piece of crap. About a month later, I recieved a package from Microsoft with 2 brand new Intellimouse Explorers and an apology note. Might be a little more expensive than Logitech, but it was obviously worth it in my case.

I use the Microsoft one at work and the Logitech one at home. I don't like the Microtrash one. Mostly I hate those side buttons, so I just disabled them. I can't see paying more for a feature I have to disable so I am comfortable with it.

They both work good, though.-Although my African Grey parrot almost ate through the cord on my work one when I wasn't looking  so hopefully I can get a Logitech one the next time 'round! ;) (They let me bring her in, everyone here likes to hear her talk. lol)

The only problem with that Joker, is that you have to buy something from Microsoft.:D

I just realized something. I've never bought a Microsoft product... I got my copy of Win2K for free, Wow I'm probably one of the last people in the country who hasn't bought anything from them.

edit: I know what your thinking, and the answer is No. I didn't pirate my OS. My brother has a friend who is the Microsoft Rep at his college. He managed to get a couple of free promotional copies for everyone in my family.

My USB Logitech 2x Blue-Chromish mouse is good even after 2 years of abuse. Personally Microsoft has a better RMA, they seem to be very generous and don't even make you send in the mouse.

Although I think Microsoft is JUST WAY TOO OVERPRICED. Logitech is rather cheap, and it lasts one heck of a time.

Yodums

Microsoft mice in general have a tendancy to break. They have a very bad angle on the cable right where it exits the shell, and frequently, the mice go bad because of it. You can fix it by jiggling the wire every once in awhile, or you can save youself the trouble and get a Logitech Dual Optical.

I heard too many things of that mouse, how good is it really?

I heard they tend to break alot and they had no RMA policy.

I saw an AOpen optical mouse yesterday. Not a fan of Aopen, but it had two freggin scroll wheels and like 7 buttons. Dont know whats its all about but when I saw it I went catatonic.

Microsoft Intellimouse. I’ve bought like four or five mice, and I’ve found them to be the best. My latest one is a cordless Intellimouse Explorer, and IMHO I think it’s the best (and most expensive) mouse ever made. I think the battery life could be a little longer, but if you have rechargeable ones, you’re ok. It looks sweet too. :D

The best mouse I ever owned was an original IBM PS/2 mouse from a 286. The thing is probably over 10 years old and works as good as new. I still get it out every once in a while when I'm modding the mouse I have.

i got this here Microsoft intellipoint explorer i think.

SWEET. 4 buttons and a wheel.

*back*..*forward*...scroll that motha out!

Yup, mine is great for UT. Left button: fire. Right button: alt fire. Wheel: sniper rifle and cycle weapons. Small thumb button: rocket launcher. Big thumb button: flak canon. Who could ask for more?? :D

I just plain don't like like optical mice and wouldn't recommend them. They lose trackng when you move them really fast.
