I hate that place, I live in Winnipeg too but I'm still gonna order stuff from the states since I don't know of any places that carry good stuff (read Alphas, GWs, etc.)in this city.

I compared the price of the super orb at 2cooltek vs comp ave and even with the exchange (1.531) and say $10-15 shipping/customs/etc its a bit cheaper. I'm looking at getting the PEP66 and for $34US I think its much better than paying $50CDN for the Super Orb (which is probably the best thing at comp ave)

you guys might want to check out this URL

www.dealsdirect.com

there's one in Ontario (Ottawa) so that means you guys from outside ontario will only pay the GST... they carry the Tt Super Orb (34.95$Cdn), the Global Win FOP32 (32,95$Cdn) and FOP38 (41,95$Cdn). so far it's the best deals I've found around here in the province of quebec but then again I might get lucky and find a FOP38 lying on the sidewalk... you just never know ;p

I wouldn't recommend computer avenue at all. IMO, Designer Graphics www.dgraphics.mb.ca is THE place to buy hardware in the 'peg.

For stuff Chris (at DG) doesn't carry, I usually go with mail order. I just ordered an Alpha PAL6035 and some Arctic Silver from www.bigfootcomputers.com -- they seem to have a good rep, although they're being a bit slow to answer my emails at the moment.

For case fans, if you want quiet fans, get Panaflo's from www.teamawe.com -- Joe will ship them USPS and mark the price as less than $20 so you won't get hit with duty. Great guy.

If you want to unlock a TBird with something more permanent/more conductive than a pencil, Active Electronics up on Route 90 carries Chemtronics conductive pens...but they're pricey. (Picked one up today for $21 CDN after tax...ouch.)
