I am looking into upgradring OS from win98 to Win2k. Which is the best chipset (nvidia, ati, etc) to be able run UNREAL TOURNAMENT and still have it run smooth? Is it possible? I know win98 is the best for 3d games...Can you still run games smooth under win2k?

Thanks,

I know people will attack me for this, but I run a 5500 with 384 megs of ram on a 933 processor with 2 or 3 drives in RAID 0.

I run UT (which I'm a huge fan of) flawlessly and play DVD's as well on a 21" monitor while running 2k Server. It actually runs faster than 98 and ME machines with the same basic setup. (I'm also a huge ME fan) The card is below $100 and I'm extremely pleased with it.

So far i hear good think bout the V5500 also-along with shadow i dont wanna start a debate. Also any of the decent nVidia cards seem to do a great job- i se a TNT2 and it runs smooth

I have Win2K and tnt2 ultra and the card runs great in ut, even at high resolutions. But if i were getting a new card, i would buy GeForce 2 Pro or wait for a GeForce 3 value version.
