i need to know what is the best parts to get for a water cooling setup for my son if you can tell me what it is and where i can get it that would be great i need the best of the best

The best performing watercooling systems are those put together by wc'ers(custome systems). Although, there are some nice kits out there that will yield great results also.

If you are looking into a kit I would suggest looking at:

DangerDen
D-tek

If you dont mind working a bit more on the setup itself.
Here are a list of popular parts:

Waterblocks: Cascade, WhiteWater, RBX, Swiftech 5002
Pumps: Eheim, Hydor, Mag, Swiftech
Heatercore: 2-342, 2-199, chevette
1/2" tubing:Vinyl, clearflex, tygon

I can't recommend a particular setup without knowing what type of rig your son has.

Alright. For a watercooling setup you need the following:

CPU Waterblock
Pump
Heatercore/Radiator + Fan and shroud
Tubing

www.dtekcustoms.com has the WhiteWater CPU block.

www.sidewindercomputers.com carries the Swiftech 5002 waterblock.

www.Dangerden.com carries the RBX Waterblock.

With all of the above waterblocks, you'll want 1/2" fittings.

I'd get either an Eheim 1048 pump or a Hydor L20 or L30. Eheim is known for quality and reliability, and is a bit more expensive than the Hydors. The Hydors will still do a fine job, however. The Danner Mag 3 is another good pump, but you have to be careful with setting it up. It can have some leaking problems if done improperly.

Danner Mag 3 @ www.petsmart.com or www.marinedepot.com

Eheim and Hydor at www.dtekcustoms.com - www.dangerden.com might have them too.

Tubing can be found at www.mcmaster.com on Page 85. Top of the page - get PVC Chemical tubing, 1/2" ID, 1/8" walls - should be $.65 a foot. 10-12 feet of that will give you a lot of flexibility to play around and even make a few mistakes.

Heatercores you can get at most auto parts stores, and also at junkyards and pull and save type places. Two popular ones, as mentioned before, are the 1986 Chevette Heater Core or a Caprice heatercore. The Chevette is pretty small, and is a lot easier to fit into most cases...for a beginning setup I'd go that route. It's about 6"x7.5" or so. Make sure to clean out the heatercore with vinegar/coke or something before you use it. :) This heatercore is the same as Dtekcustoms' "Pro Core." The only difference is that the Pro Core already has barbs on it, and costs much more. It'd be cheaper to get the core from an auto parts store like I said before - the hose I recommended will fit over those heatercore barbs. You can also get the shroud and 120mm fan from www.dtekcustoms.com.

Enhiem 1050 for the pump, with a WW or RBX.
A Pro core, (D-Tek Heatercore)
MCW20-P *INTEL* Chipset Waterblock - Swiftech
Swiftech MCW50 GPU Waterblock or Swiftech MCW50-T GPU Block & 80w Peltier (requires Meanwell 320W 25A Dedicated Line Power Supply)
A Innovatek Tank-O-Matic Resivore
Clearflex Tubing
UV Dye and a UV CC

what about for the gpu and the chip set on the mb he want stuff for that too and he seed something about a Cascade water block is that the best if so where can i get it and where can i get the blocks for the chip set and the gpu i know my son knows where to get them but i dont want to ask and give it away
thanks

Cascade

I don't know what the wait is right now but probably at least a month. Send Cathar an email and ask him. Cost is around $100.

As far as your other stuff I'd recommend Cooltechnica . I've gotten most of my stuff there and they are top notch.

thanks to all that have helped i think i have all the info i need now if any one else has something to say please do so

thanks

Barry Gill,
i think these guys have steered you in the right direction, but there's one thing nobody mentioned: it sounds like your son has a sweet system and is soon going to have a much much sweeter system, the only thing i'd like to ask is that when it's all done that he post some pics for us to see. we really love that. other than that, good luck, and if he gets stuck or needs help, we are always here.

mod on

all right i will have him do that i am sher he will be able to but it together i am an ap and have not seen someone able to figuer things out as well as him but i will let him know about you all
thanks
