Hello guys, I have a dell dimension with a pIII 700 in it, I was told that the dell motherboards are not overclockable, and I have not been able to find any information to show otherwise. So my question is can it be overclocked after all? and if not what motherboard do you guys recommend I get? that can be overclocked?
Thank you very much for your time,

ok, I did it, I know this is a stupid question.... but how do I see if it worked?

anyone else have any sugestion on what motherboard to get for a pIII 700?

You want Dual processor system?.. That might be an idea for this mobo.. but try seeking other brands like Abit, Asus, or MSI or SuperMicro, etc.. Tyans suck. sorry but Im being honest. Go with BX or i815E intel's Solano chipsets. I still recommend good'ol 440BX chipset. In single processors platform, Abit's.. SH6 or BE6-2 Rev.2 will do you better.. That Tyan has Via Apollo 133A chipset.. this chip can't even come close to the performance of those abit chipsets I said above.

I have a Dell pentium 3 550mhz and I can only overclock it through software to 103mhz fsb getting 564mhz processor speed! When i take it up to 124mhz it is stable untill i try to access anything on the hard drive as it freezes the system as it is only a cheapy and doesn't like the raised bus speed. Is there any way I can get around this problem?
Also I tried the A14 trick as described above and when booting got the same 550mhz speed, also when I cheaked the system using sisandra it was only running at 550mhz still! why doesn't the A14 thingie work? any help would be much apreciated
