which is the better deal? i've alwyas wanted a gig of ram, but i dont know if that will run at the speeds i need (NF7-S, probly 225-230)

i assume the corsair is 2X256, while the kingston is 2X512...i know a gig of ram is a little overkill for games, but still. what do you guys think?

Those Corsair sticks may be made with the same chips found in XMS3500 sticks (BH5); I don't know for sure. Anyway, as you're running an AMD system, you'll want memory that can do tight timings. My sticks of XMS3200 (non LL) did 220MHz with 2.9v 2-2-2-11 so I would expect the LL to do even better.

I used to use 2x256 of memory but then upgraded to 2x512. Honestly, I don't see much of a difference besides level load times in games are shorter. I also hit the pagefile less.

i was hoping to get less load times, i'm very impatient. i will be running amd, but how important are the timings?

Those both use Winbond CH-5 memory. Going for the XMS PC3200 LL over the HyperX PC3200 (w/ CH-5) is more of a waste of money then anything substantial. Winbond CH-5 memory is capable of ~200-217MHz w/ 2-3-2 timings, though you may have to run timings of 2-3-3. (CAS-tRCD-tRP)

i dont even know what the timings ARE.

i'd like a gig running at 225, maybe 230...but i cant pay anymore than 200...absolute MAX

120 max for 512....
