Does anyone play?

Thoughts?


I played in the closed beta and now in the early release. It's battlefield...............but with TTK of COD (feels slightly increased from BF V/I). Graphics look awesome... maps are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. Don't get caught without some mobility.

Just wishing they had a battle royale mode.......
 
The game looks amazing but I have no plans to buy this game for a good while. All BF games release with tons of bugs and problems yet for some reason I still buy them early. Not this time. If it goes on sale or gets attached to origin for free I might give it a shot but until then I'll stick with COD Vanguard.

I just read an article that said it won't even have voice chat at release. WTF is that?

Outside of that, there isn't too much wrong with it as far as bugs go. I mean, it's in early release for a few days now and no patches. :p :rofl:


The irony isn't lost you're saying BF is buggy at launch (it is!) but playing COD:V. :D

Not to hijack the thread but so far I haven't seen too many problems. To be fair I have only played the campaign, which is fantastic and haven't seen too many problems. I love all the cut scenes, it really feels like I'm playing in a movie. I'm sure multiplayer is another issue all together though.
 
I tried playing it. I am just gonna say it. This game, so far, is so inexcusably bad that saying "but its still in beta/early access" does not cut it for me.

What bothers me the most is that the characters are the same on both russian and american side. Also, the way they act is so "happy go lucky". I mean Earth is not doing alright, people have lost their homes, countries have failed/collapsed, everything seems hopeless, and these characters are walking around high and proud like this is a sports event. So much for what would have been a true prequel to Battlefield 2142.

Game crashed on me multiple times and I could not play a full match.

My key binds were not working properly even when I was sure that I had them set right.

I have seen better in battlefield 3, 4, and 1 betas. I cant find anything I like about this game. At least I was able to rent the game for a bit via EA play.

Maybe after novemeber 19th, we might actually see them change their minds and push out a rather large "update/fix" for this game.
 
This isn't a beta...it's a full release just early acces for the suckers like me who paid the premium,, lol. This is way more refined than a beta!

Wow... can't say I've had those problems. The game did crash on me twice over the past few days, but outside of that, all key binds took. Make sure you're using the right driver. Bith amd and nv released one for the game.

I hear what you're saying about the characters, but it's a MP game so, that isn't on the list of things I remotely care about.

I'm more irked about the lower fps than I am many other things, lol.
 
I did get the latest driver. I downloaded nVidias "Game Ready Driver". I did read somewhere about disabling some settings so I might look into that.
 
I've been running default Ultra and sitting around 100 FPS with the latest driver (496.76 - came out yesterday late morning) at 2560x1440. If I turn off the RT AOcclusion, the FPS jump a bit. There was a notable, but not huge performance increase from the 69.69 driver. And come to think of it, I haven't crashed since that driver (I only played about an hour though)...

EDIT: My crashes did appear to be driver related. The dialog box would pop up asking to install the latest or reinistall this driver. So far so good...
 
I have the regular edition ready to play on the 19th. But From the looks of it, it seems like most BF launches, it may be best to wait around 6mo while they figure out what the hell they are trying to do with the game.
 
Yeah, after playing for a couple of hours now, there's definitely some niggles. Right now, it's good for a mindless 'pick it up and put it down' type shooter. I still think it's worthy buying... but only if you have faith they'll get the biggest problems worked out, lol.
 
Yeah, if I didn't get a cheap copy from a video card code I would be looking to refund it until they resolve a lot (hopefully).

I would be looking at getting it for half off or something, which from the way things are looking I imagine it happening within a couple months.

 
Played the intro vs the bots this evening. Turned it off afterwards. The game just felt clunky. Honestly, the worst part of the game is the UI, menus, and the sound of selecting things in the menu. The cracking sound makes me think there is something wrong with my speakers/headphones/the game and I can't disable it.

Never thought I would ever say this, but Halo infinite kicks the crap out of battlefield and it is f2p.

 
It's a good start. Apparently, the hovercrafts only take 2 rockets now instead of 3+, which is good and they fixed the bullet-proof glass on the vehicle. Not sure if they fixed tanks yet that would take less shots from the late-game sniper rifle to blow up than an RPG though, lol.

I'm still not a fan of the specialist system, I much prefer classes/etc so that you have an idea of what to expect from those around you. Or there needs to be more benefit to playing a supporting character. They also need some more infantry-focused maps. I don't care about it being 128 players either [I find that it is too much, and damn-near impossible to balance for].

Voice lines in this game just dont seem to match with the theme and make me cringe.
 
Conquest in this just isn't fun anymore, maps too big and everything just lacks organization. I am pretty much only playing breakthrough now.
 
I've only played breakthrough the last few days against bots. I can rack up kills, still level up, and unlock attachments to guns while practicing flying and such.
