I thought it was kind of a shame that they only gave you one grappling hook or zip line and you couldn't even decide which of the two you wanted, it just depends on what weapon kit you choose.
Both AT and Assualt classes have grappling hooks, snipers have zip line, support has tear gas and assault also has flashbangs.

I have seen people in regular BF2 maps using the new weapons, how do i do this?
you have to have the expansion, one of the things the patch did was to make it so people can use unlocks from SF on the old maps...

btw to get the SF unlock you need to already need the BF2 unlock for that kit, ie if you want the F2000 you must have already unlocked the G3

mine should come today!!!!!!!! question. if i have an unlocked weapon from SF and say a zip line, and i get killed, can someone from the game who doesnt have SF pick it up and use it?

i got my copy from play.com for £9.99 which is about $17 usd. they had the game for £14.99 but i had a £5 voucher :D

Overall, I like the new BF2:SF but have a couple comments...
1. The patch applies to regular BF2 as well as SF, so even if you don't play the new expansion, yopu should patch your game with 1.12
2. New weapons are cool, but the servers haven't recognized my new unlocks yet
3. Performance drop... anybody else notice this? In regular BF2 (using the console command 'renderer.drawfps 1') my fps are usually mid-40s, often up into the 60s. In SF (with all video setting exactly the same) I am getting sub-20s steady... nearly unplayable. I realize the night levels are much more GPU intensive, but I have this issue with well lit levels as well. Any ideas (besides upgrade vid card)?

Cheers.

1.I also had a major performance drop, I had to go down to 1024x780 which isn't horribly low but still noticable.
2.I do like the new weapons, those flash bangs are brutal!
3.The new maps are good but it seems people are still running around with no orginization. I guess everyone forgot how to play once the new mod came out.
4. Not enough servers. The best server for lag I found was a 24/7 ghost town map which is a horrible map imo. I think I saw three more and thats it.

this game rocks. new weapons and utilities are cool, and i got 2 unlocks after one round (i did get 117 points:) ).overall, excellent. i didnt notice any bugs, nor a performance drop. oh, and loads of servers!!!!

Get the update first then install the SP. Some people dont read anything but the top section. EA states you have to run the update first. I'll buy it as soon as all the stores have it back in stock.

they put jet skis in this? if so i'm definitely not buying. looking to me like what secret weapons was to bf42. sad...

well then expect trouble in the regular game when people come at you wielding SF unlocks...

that's half of the reason why I am getting the game.

I just got this today and I think its a pretty good expansion pack. Right now my favorite maps are the Russain maps.
The one think that I like is the heli's don't flip over as easy and they strafe easier. The awesome part
is you get to use flashbangs in the regular BF2 with the weapon unlock. I was using flashes all over karkand.
But my only complaint is I have been getting massive lag.

Thats crap that they are going to allow these unlocks in non SF games. It forces you to buy the upgrade to to be on the same level as the other players.

but I am still buying it.

All EA cares about is money, not wether the game is fair or not.
