Every once and a while my system will lock up and if I hit the reset button the system does not boot and a alarm on the mother board goes off. If I cold boot after waiting a few seconds things are fine and then it may not happen again for a number of hours or days.I have monitored temp, voltages and fan rpm during benchmarks and normal activity and have never seen anything unusual happen. I am not overclocked... any ideas or recomendations.

IMHO sounds to me you're running right at the critical temp area. You may only peak over it every once in a while and when you do the temps have to come back down before it'll boot. (hence the cold boot cure)

What type of monitor software are you using?
