i have a bh-6 rev1.01 bios ss(latest bios) whenever i put a coppermine chip (p3-700,cel2-566 etc...)on this board it starts going crazy!!!The mouse will start warping all over the screen, the screen will start redrawing one frame at a time,or it will lock up.I have put my friends p3-450 o/c to 600(not coppermine) and it ran great!!I have tried the abit iii slotket, generic slotket, and slot 1 chips they all do the same.It seems like it doesnt like copperimines BUT i have read all these posts from people that have run coppermines fine.I am wondering can it be my power supply 250w or is there i/o voltage problem????I am currently running my old 300a o/c at 558 and it runs fines.I have v3-3000 agp, sblive value,128 megs pc-133 cas2 ram.PLEASE HELP!!!!I shelled out $150 for this p3-700e,$20 for the abit iii slotket, and $35 for the alpha pep66 .I really dont have money for a new board right now.

Hello,

interesting. I was under the impression that the reason the old BH6 didn't support Coppermine was that the voltage regulator is unable to supply enough power. However, I was _also_ under the impression that the SlotKet-III this guy uses has been designed to have its own voltage regulator on board, to get around precisely this kind of problem.

Can someone shed light on what the SlotKet-III does or does not do? Is it reliant on the quality of the on-board voltage regulator, or may it just be that this guy's 250W supply is just a tad too wimpy, or that his processor cooling isn't adequate?

This is a surprise to me. I am running a Celly II 600 on a BH6 1.0 with Abit!!! slotket at 1008 with 1.95v with no problems whatsoever. Also using a 250 watt power supply. I also have good cooling using Alpha PEP66 & Arctic Silver. Will have to do some thinking on this one.

I will testify that a Celeron 566 coppermine and Abit Slotket!!! WILL work on the BH6 ver.1 motherboard. You have to set the jumpers on the slotket to auto fsb and coppermine. I set the slotket voltage at 1.75v (this can be then be adjusted up or down in the BIOS as needed). I had this setup running at a 850 MHz and higher for 6 months. I could benchmark 978 and could play 3D games at 952. It can be done.
