binary to asembly language

i would like to look at my bios files in asembly language. can they be tranformed back? if so would i get any commenting the origanal programer had or is that lost forever? i use linux and windows so ill try anything you guys sugest. i looked on my own but im not finding anything

You wouldn't be able to get any comments back. If you wanted to look at an executable binary in assembler, you'd want to use a disassembler or a debugger.

Might work with the bios bin, if it is just the straight binary of instructions. The disassembler/debugger might need to understand that, I'm not sure. If its encoded in any way, you'd have to unencode it.

At any rate, you could use a hex editor and the intel instruction set manual.
