Every now and then I get a Bios checksum error. But only sometimes when I restart, never from a cold boot.

My question is, could this be caused by sucking to much power at startup?
I have alot of stuff all running off of a 250w PSU. Everything below as well as Three case fans, and a slot 1 PIII alpha.

I dunno about the Bios checksum error. Personally, I'd use a 200W AT PS just for the Peltier. Running it on your 250W ATX along with everything else seems like a lot to ask of the PS.

Yeah, I know but I fried my other psu that I used for my peltier a while back. And I never got around to getting a new one. I was thinking of just going for a 400w psu, cause I do want to buy a different peltier.

But I wanted some opinions to see if maybe the board is going out or if it is a lack of power to the board at bootup?

I am using the same Chips (P3-800E) and also BE6II. I got the same Checksum error when I o/c too high.....I think SECC2 can't o/c it too high and I tried to put my Peltier tooo but unfortunately there's a little condensation problem on the Cold Plate (Aluminium). Therefore I give it up and now I am running happy with my P3-800E ..Check my Signature for the system that I got !

See I know theres something wrong with my PSU. Ever since my other one fried this one's been acting weird too. Sometimes something weird will happen in windows and it basically locks up in a way and I'll restart and nothing. cant even post. then i'll shut it off and then turn it on. Then I dont get any power at all. I think it overheats or something. Let it sit for a while and it'll start up and boot up perfectly normal.

Why not pay the extra money and get a good 450 watt P.S.? I only have my PIII, two fans for my alpha, 1 fan for my case blowhole, tnt vid card, sound card and a pci modem..and when I upgraded from a 300w P.S. to a 450w, I noticed both fans on my alpha were running about 200rpm faster, and the board runs a little cooler as wellI think anybody overclocking should replace the power supply with a high quality one, because sometimes people will try an overclock, and they can get there, but not stable, and never consider the power supply.
I think 350w is a bare minimum for overclockers, and when I upgrade eventualy to the P4, although mine is P4 ready, I will probably go for a 600w sup, just to make sure I will have the "poop in the soup" needed for a serious overclock.
And when ready to get a new supply, make sure you get one that has dual fans

Yeah, I know I need a new PSU. I've been holding off getting a new one for awhile. Maybe when my brother buys my old ram I will spring for one.
