..BIOS.The BIOS model doesn't match with the one currently used."

Arrgh. I want to flash what seems to be an "in-house" BIOS(read not a Public Release BIOS) with an updated Public Release Asus BIOS file. This is with an Asus A7S-VM mainboard.

Anyone ever get a message like this??
Thank you for your expertise!

Did you or someone ask this the other week ? Bad check sum kinda thing. The BIOS needs to be locked off. No easy way of doing it.

Yes, I posted a similar Q a few days ago. This is a strange mainboard. It will not accept any updated BIOS if done the DOS way. It DID accept a Beta BIOS from Asus, Germany. The "flash while you're in online in Windows--automagically" method works. The problem is that you can't type the full URL into the box provided in the auto-update window, applet, WtH It Is. You can't type anything, it's their way, period. As the full URL is needed, "ftp:asus/file" sure as heck won't work--and doesn't. You can't browse when you get to Asus, Deutschland, either.

All I wanted to do was disable the built-in Vidcard in BIOS. Allegedly, the latest non-Beta BIOS has this feature. Beta 1005vm sure doesn't.

Believe it or not, Half-Life and UT are playable with the on-board Vidcard. If I want to remove the mainboard, I can exchange it for another at the retailer. Will a new A7S-VM be from a different batch of boards that have a NON in-house BIOS? Arrgh.
