Hi Everyone,

I have been facing a black screen issue on my Windows 10 PC. After starting my computer, the screen goes completely black and nothing seems to display. I have tried restarting the system, but the issue persists.

Here are the details:

Windows Version: Windows 10 Version 1909System Specs: Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1660The issue started after a recent Windows update.I have tried booting in Safe Mode, but the black screen still appears.I have also run Windows Repair using Tweaking.com’s tool, but the problem remains.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

I don't have the answer as I have the same issue with one of the laptops at work. It's Dell designed for Win10, but the same issue is in Win10 and Win11 after reinstallation. It works fine on a clean OS, but once power management drivers load or Windows update performs a full OS update, then after restart, there is only a black screen, and I see a mouse cursor (I had no time to check every update, and the list is long).
I only found that the issue is somehow related to power management and sleep mode. Blue screens suggest something with power management. Once I disabled all the additional power options and sleep mode, it worked for 3-4 restarts, but the problem returned later.

I don't know how much it will help you, but maybe you can find something new in settings, drivers, or OS updates. I don't have time for that right now, and officially, the mentioned laptop won't be used anymore as the user has a new one.

Thanks for sharing! I will try disabling power options and sleep mode to see if it helps. Your insight about power management and updates gives me a good lead. I will update if I find a solution

Yeah, we're going to need a little more info. The info you gave about your system is a little vague

Upper right corner, click on your user name
Drop down menu will appear
Select Signature
Create your signature with your system specs.
Be Specific

The more info you give us, the better we can help you ;)

Very vague, how do you mean a black screen, is that all you get? Can you boot into safe mode, if so does it go black. How did you use a tool if you only get a black screen? Like Nebulos said, actual specs will help.

I used to have exactly this problem. Is your screen an television by any chance?

If my computer went to sleep you would come back to a black screen and you wouldn't be able to get the signal back again. The screen would just stay black.

The only solution would be to turn the computer completely off... then turn it on again... then Windows would detect the television as a display on start-up... but it wouldn't do it upon wake-up. This was eventually fixed (Windows 10) via updates. But still, today (Windows 11), I don't get a screensaver or anything... just a black screen. (Although it does wake-up now and I get the screen back once it does.)

So... which display are you using? And have you installed all the latest updates?

If your still working on this try switching inputs on your GPU. If nothing else works and you have an i7 with onboard graphic's pull the GPU and use your CPU graphic's.
