Can't get BOINCvew to access networked folder-- any ideas?

They are shared and accesssible through the My Computer icon...

Crunch on! :attn:

Are the shares accessable through "My Network Places"? If so, BoincView should list them there if it's not listing your network drive.

Thanks, now I have them listed; but they are still not being recognized by BOINCview...

Tried RPC... no avail... maybe it is because they are Windows 98 machines... ???????

numbnuts... that's me!

I REALLY, REALLY hate networking and have avoided it at all costs... which just bit me in the @$$...

I did get the RPC enabled on the Win98 systems, then had to remember/learn how to find ISPs on my LAN--not sure I ever knew how before...

As long as I remove the -min switch from the shortcut, everything works smoothly in RPC--even with good old Win98...

THANKS for all the help!!

You do have to start the client with the -allow_remote_gui_rpc option. Just add that after the quote marks in the shortcut properties for boinc.
