im new to the oclocker cult....but i like u guys a lot....first thing ...whats a good temp @ idle speed for a 1.2 tbird...i have heard 50c is not bad....

also....and suggestions for bios setting to overclock to 1.3.....what temp increase am i looking at by doing this...?

why to tbirds run so damn hot?

Welcome!

50C is a little hot. My 1.33 is running about 42C. Most temp monitoring is a little off, I used Via hardware monitor for mine.

The settings depend on your motherboard, the KT7a is a good one for overclocking. Read the manual before you do anything.
If your processor is unlocked you can change the multipier

FSB*multipier=processor speed
You are probably at:
133*9=1197MHz
Try 133*10=1330MHz

Speed=heat. Tbirds are currently the fastest and most powerfull so they are the hottest.

If you are going to overclock you need some good cooling, the stock heatsink usually does not cut it. What do you have?

appreciate the advice....my cpu is currently at 47c idle speed...and about 50c loaded....but not much above that...

i have an enlight 8910 server case....which helps alot with airflow..

actually the heatsink and fan are some odd brand but it is rated for amd tbirds of 1.4ghz...im only at 1.2...so i figured it would do....but im looking at another fan and heatsink...it was just a pain in the *** to get the one on there i got now...

im not to fond of cutting hole in my case, but i may think about it...
