I am putting together a mini-bong cooler like the one listed HERE, the one with the scotch pads to distribute water for cooling.

I have a few questions.

1. Any recomendations on the water coil?, I was planing on using 3/8" soft coper pipe. And how should the holes be spaced, I was thinking on bending the coil so that it was a diamater that left a 1/2" clearing from the tube walls and drilling the holes so they were pointing towards the middle of the tube.

2. What fan should I use that can handle the back pressure of forcing air through the pads?. And how do I tell what fans are good at dealing with pressure and not just moving air through an open space.

3. Pump recomendations?

4. What should I add to the water to prevent stuff from growing in it?

5. Any general advise from experiance would be great.

Thanks a lot,

fd

copper is a great choice assuming you use a copper water block. With a fan, get a thicker one that is like 32mm thick. I think Sunon makes a 120*120*38mm fan that will handle the pressure better. Danner or Eheim pump in the 500gph range. Either Antifreeze or the biocide they use in humidifiers would be great. No expierence in bongs, but make sure you always have water!

I remember some friends of my roommates putting ice in their's...oh wait...thats something different.

Hey fishdog, do you currently go to UMass. I am going to be a sophmore there next semester myself. UMass Amherst that is.
