I just bought a new hard drive and would like to format the old one and reinstall just windows on it.My problem is I'm running XP(upgraded from 98SE), but my 98 disk does not seem to work and I don't have a bootable floppy of it.I need some 98 files to upgrade to XP.
Does anyone know how I can reinstall just the 98 files that are need for XP?
I know considering that I can't get my 98 CD to work, but my I can copy the needed files to a floppy?I'm not sure what to look for.

Please help

if you just want to install xp, just use the xp disk as a bootdisk. it will ask you to insert the 98 cd. once its done checking that its a upgradeable OS, it will tell you to reinsert the xp disk and thats it. you dont have to have anything installed, it does a clean install just fine
