Hi I had my computer on sleep, I woke it typed my password and the system hung on the log in screen with the blue loading circle cursor. So I left it for about 10 mins and still the same so I pressed the restart button and when it started up again I got bootmgr is missing. I have tried booting from the win 7 disc and tried the repair feature only when it asks to choose your OS on the HDD it doesn't show in the box.

I went ahead anyway and clicked repair but it said it couldn't repair, I have also tried "run chkdsk /r", "bootrec.exe/fixboot /fixmbr etc. All the cables are connected I have tried using a different sata cable and still no luck. I have also unplugged the HDD and put it into a external case and plugged it into my laptop but nothing shows or comes up.

The HDD is a corsair force 3 120GB 2.5" SSD PN/ CSSD-F120GB3-BK S/N starts with 1139, just found out about these http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=95825. I also have a 1.5GB seagate barracuda 3.5GB and a 750GB of the same model.
Also when I hit F8 at startup the HDD is not listed in the boot menu.

Can anyone help ?, I really need my computer. Thanks

Is the drive detected in the BIOS? Have you tried another cable for the drive?

The drive is not showing in the BIOS, I put in my initial post I have tried a different sata data cable, and have just tried a different power cable and still nothing.

I just ran a repair, when it asks where to run the repair my HDD is not listed, but even after running it shows this IMAG0026.jpg

If the OS drive is not seen in the BIOS, running Windows repair is going to do absolutely nothing.

Can you try the drive in another system? If it isn't visible, the power/data cables aren't working or there is something wrong with the drive.

Another computer isn't possible, I have tried different data and power cables and trying different ports on the psu and the sata connectors, and the hard drive is still not showing in the bios or boot menu options. Should I be able to feel vibration from the SSD drive, can anyone confirm this for me ?

Solid state drives have no moving parts. There really isn't a way to tell it is on except for having it visible in the BIOS/OS.

+1 no moving parts in an SSD. Some do have a light on the back (Vertex 3 does)... but yeah.. other than that, cant tell.

well there is a red light on the inside of the drive, whatever that means. I'm going to email Corsair and see what they say.

The manual with the drive doesnt say what those lights mean? I cant imagine red is anything good.
