A release date has been given, 9/18/2012, along with a new trailer and information about the Characters.

I can't wait for this game, I will be pre-ordering for sure. I played the first one a lot. It goes down as one of my all time favorite games. I am thinking about starting with either the siren or the commando. I played Brick the most in the first one.

IGN has most of the new information.

I'll be getting the game..I really liked the first one too. The second probably won't be as good, but that's OK. I really liked the quirky story and characters and the maps and such of the strange planet. Its quite a story:). I guess its a simple shooter, but the art work and all is ingenious imo.

They are supposed to improve the co-op. It was good in the first one, but sometimes the missions did not work right. The story is pretty good in the first one, if you take the time to read everything.

I would like to see a shared bank. To make it easier to share weapons between characters. I hated having to open my save files to give a weapon to another character. I don't want copying of weapons, just the ability to transfer them to a character that I would actually use them with.

I certainly hope they have better multi-monitor support that the first one. I decided to go back and play the first one after watching the trailer, figuring it'd be pretty bad *** on 5760x1200, but it's support is horrible. I'll play it regardless, but would love good multi-monitor support.

Ya I've got multi monitors too and only played it on a single 1920x1080. I don't recall that it even has a selection choice for wide screening? Does it?

But the game is really fun..I think. Its "really" long in single player if one tries to level up totally in each of the four characters..and the game goes on...seemingly forever!! as one switches to even high level adventures. Somewhere along there I got tired of so much playing it etc. But I hope to go back and continue in the future.

And there's DLC too.

You can get it to run on multiple monitors, but it doesn't go very well. You have to mess with the FOV settings to get everything to look right. But the menus and character's own models don't scale right. Your gun takes up most of the center screen. I couldn't get it playable.

After the first time playing through I stopped doing all of the quest on the first play through. If you do all of the quest then you will out level the missions. I also wait to do the DLCs until I finish the main quests for the 2nd play through. Even if you skip the side quests in the first play through you will have no problem reaching max level with all of the DLCs in the second play through.

Also I would skip moxi. It really is not worth the time. I beat it, once and never went back. There is really minimal reward for doing it. Some people really like it, but it is just boring to me.

I hope the this game is more refined when it comes out. The first one had a lot of bugs and I think turned off a lot of people. There are plenty of work a rounds, but you had to be willing to find them.

Because of this discussion I went to the game to refresh my memory and had so much fun I played a couple hours:). I think the Siren is the only one of the four characters not totally leveled up. She's at about 26 or so. Its funny going back to a game..I mean I forget stuff so quickly..It comes back pretty fast though. I forget the controls..It took me quite a while to get the car into turbo mode..I finally got it. I just hit every key until I got success..

And I guess because its been so long since I last played it I couldn't get it to open on Steam until I went to the game properties in my library and synched files etc.

I guess they've made a lot of changes since I last played. It looks pretty much the same to me.. but on my rig the colors and images were not as crisp as I thought they were before. Maybe its my eyes! And of course it was never great before, but looks maybe a litttle less now. But still good and playable, I'm just surprised all is not crisper looking. It looks a little like there's a film over the screen..just somewhat..but still there. Don't know whats causing that. Maybe I can adjust the settings and make a change. I didn't have time to investigate.
I was having too much fun playing.

It never was very crisp to me. They have done a lot of updating. There is also a lot of information on the official forum as to how the game works. The info can really help to understand how everything works together and how to create the best character for your play style.
