I'm building a system for a guy and decided to go with the sweet, 2100+ because of how cool it runs, how great it oc's and how cheap it is. However, since I'm building this for a friend, I was considering buying the boxed version and getting the additional warranty, since it's only $8 more. However, it doesn't say at newegg whether or not these are T-Bred B's or what stepping they are, while the OEM version says it's a T-Bred B DUT3C (the best stepping from what I understand)
So I just wondered what your opinions were. This guy's no computer genius and I'm not planning on doing any major ocing because of this, however I'd still like to get the best chip possible and give it a good oc.

Well you could always go to excaliber and get a Boxed 1700+ DLT3C JIUHB and they guarantee this stepping, plus you get a 3 year warranty. And this is the chip that you can get a 500mhz OC with stock voltage.

Just a reminder. You void your warenty when you overclock. Just make sure to tell him to take his FSB and voltage back to stock if he has any problems with it before sending it back.
