hi all,
i was wondering, as i was setting up my system i was using ArcticSilver1 paste ( which is a CONDUCTOR! ) und i am/was quite sure taht i slapped a bit too much om my cpu.
my concerns are the following: the cpu has a "blowhole" for heatexpansion and stuff and i am scared right now that something really really bad will happen when some articsilver will come in that hole!

i didnt drench my cpu in that stuff but i think i did slap a little too much on there to make my worry!

please, anyone, give me a reason not to worry. this setup is half a week old!

aaaahh!

There is nothing to worry about. That little hole only leads to the core. If the IHS wasn't on that CPU, you'd be applying Arctic Silver directly to the core anyway. There is nothing to short out on the top of a Northwood CPU. I would not get careless and slop Arctic Silver down onto the pins though.
