Hi, I have a P4 3.0C northwood cpu that is missing a pin. I purchased it off a guy and he said it booted up with the missing pin but did no further testing. Attached is a pic of the CPU with the missing pin circled. Please let me if you know what that PIN does or is for. Could it hurt my motherboard. Also do you guys know anyone that can repair it? Thanks for any help.

Nope it shouldn't do any damage. If the pins were linked with wire or some other means you could blow the chip. Its very hard for a damaged cpu to take out the motherboard.

Toss it in, fire it up and prime it.

Best of luck.
