Just got a new system for folding up. I tried to see how cheap I could go and this is what I ended up with. Yeh, it won’t break any frame records in Quake, but it should fold just as well.

System Board Chaintech/Excel $60
W/ Video, Audio
` ,LAN Integrated

CPU Duron 850 $42

Case/PSU Heck if I know $50
(Generic but works)

Memory Bulk Stuff (128/pc133) $40

FHS Cooler Master $7

Hard Drive 5 Gig WD $10

Total: $209.00

There was no need for a floppy or CD-ROM. I just threw all the files I needed for Linux on the Hard Drive from one of my other systems.

Its just a small addition to my even smaller farm. I needed another test server and that’s what I came up with. However, because most of my systems sit idle 99% of the time, I run F@H on all of them.

I just posted that information as an example of how cheap you can go if you want to add systems to your network. Even though this research is extremely important to me (I have 2 grandparents that suffer from the disease), I would never try to urge someone to spend money for just the folding program.

But if you are like me and need extra systems for other things…by all means…load that client : )

I'm with JetMech on this one, Blow all your dough on folders! EErr save a little for the  .
Anyways, thats sweet bro! Fold on:cool:

I had to ebay the Hard Drive. I couldn’t find anyone who sold older drives like that. I got the rest from Directron. Not the cheapest on the net, but they always give me the best service.

I was going to order a second today, but my KVM switch gave out last night:mad:

Hey Feralcom, when you go to Directron, you do it by going to Overclockers.com's homepage and go there through the links, right? That way Skip gets the credit, and is able to keep the dollars flowing in. :D

Sorry, I didn’t. I never noticed a Directron link on here…well…until yesterday that is. I have been using Directron for about 3 years now. I just came to overclockers.com a few weeks ago.

Rest assured, I will go through here from now on.

I should have a folding rig soon - I'm getting a mobo & vcard next month, just need a PSU and case and I have a Duron650 folding rig!

That would be interesting to know. I've never seen nor tried radmin. THe best on ethat I've seen, aside from Windows Remote Desktop Connection(which I love btw) is PC Anywhere, but it's pretty expensive so I use vnc as I don't have XP on all systems.
