I need some suggestion as i'm having second thoughts and money issues. I got about 70 dollars to spend on a psu, and i'm going to be overclocking so i'll need something good. Originally i was going to go with a Antec True480 or the True550 but recently my cash flow dropped. I know Fortron is a good brand and i've heard Sparkle is also. Lotta noise about Enermax here lately and well, Antec's always been there.

So lemme continue ..... oh wait i know some of ya might be saying wtf?? he didnt mention PC P&C lol well they are too expensive in my book but also highly reguarded so there :D i said it.

This is what i need to push with the PSU i buy.

P4 2.4C (overclocking)
Abit IC7-G Max 2
1GB KHX PC3000 (overclocking)
ATI 9800 Pro (overclocking)
Audigy 2
Nexus 205 Fan Controller
92mm Vantec Tornado
4 80mm Panaflo U1A's
2 120mm Panaflo U1A's
2 Optical drives
2 WD 250GB's @ Raid 0
2 Cathodes
and a few other things....

I know the Antec be is a 480 or a 550 would push all of these, hell the 430 would prolly too! But since i'm in a buget range now i'll need a good reliable PSU with accurate rails. I'm competely open for suggestions at this point cause i had my mind set on Antec and now i need some advice from people with experience.

thx :D

The following are all within the $70-90 price range. They are all good for overclocked systems, with strong rails and testified clean lines. They arn't as good as PC Power and Supply's PSU's, and Antec's TrueControl 550W is arguably better then all of them as well. But they are all better then Enermax supplies, and any other generic 600W PSU out there.

Fortron FSP530-60GLN 530W - $74
TTGI TT-520SS 520W - $70
Antec True480 480W - $89

If you want a step up from these, an PC Power and Cooling Turbo 425W is the best buy under $150. If your concerned with noise, you can ask them about modifying it with a quieter fan or get a PC Power and Cooling Silence 400W. Or an Antec TrueControl 550W for $132.

I just got a Fortron 530 and it is an amazing PSU some people complain that the fans get loud, if i ever notice them i plan to replace them with a pair of panaflows.

If you want an awesome overclocking PSU get the Fortron.

btw, sparkle is the retail name for fortron

weill i bought the Fortron 530 for 69.00 off of newegg, i'm hoping it is a good PSU that will last for at least 3 years and not giv eme any trouble :D I'm also hoping i dont have to adjust any rails on it also, i dont like messing with stuff that can kill me in an instant if not discharged properly :(

if you got the 530 i don't think you will need to adjust the rails.
