Sorry guys maybe I wasn't clear. I wasn't trying to impersonate the op. Several people above me suggested the I5-2500k and I was just trying to agree with them. The 2500k is what I got instead of an amd this time. Sorry if I confused anyone. I will try to be more clear from now on.

I will admit that I am an AMD fan boy, but if your thinking about going with the 2500k vs 8120, go 2500k. Bulldozer was a disappointment for us all :-( considering the old 1100T can perform about the same as the 8150.

Dont get me wrong I am not saying the 8120 is worhtless. I am sure it will do what you want it to do. But if you can get the 2500k for the same price as the 8120; go 2500k. But if you care more about price the 8120 will save you about $20 alone on the CPU, not including Mobo prices. Newegg also has some really nice combos for the 8120 which will save you some more $

The major issue with the fx8120/50 is power consumption, which will ruin your savings in the long run...besides that is more than enough cpu for a gaming rig if you overclock it and pair it with a 6970 or something similar. Plus, you'll have to invest in an h100 and or custom loop to cool it.

^This. I care a lot about power consumption these days.. I run my i7 930 at stock clocks with HT off at like 1.1v on the vcore. Lol. Unless I'm heavily gaming or something.

I'll be swapping to Ivy Bridge when it arrives.. My GTX 580 already runs undervolted at stock clocks at 1025mv vs stock 1050mv. XD. Gonna replace my PSU with a 550W unit from either Seasonic (X-560) or Kingwin/Superflower Lazer Platinum.

Same story here...it would be terrible to exceed the power usage at home, cause here if you go past said watts a month they move you to a higher tier and charge an extra 50 bucks to your already monthly fee -I pay 15 bucks a month on electricity atm-
I'm really looking forward to both Ivy and Piledriver, also the new Bulldozer 'stepping' might be nice too...who knows?
