Probably won't be continued. There are no new BIOSes that let to OC locked CPUs and on some boards there are various issues on available revisions. Simply looks like Intel said couple of words to mobo manufacturers.
Right now several companies including Asrock and MSI are releasing boards to support BCLK overclocking on non "K" Slylake CPUs. It is also my understanding that BCLK overclocking is in fact possible with Skylake. As of this writing though I do not know how much success is being had on these chips.
