well if u buy a normal blcok thats non finished then u will need tools to finish, u cant just use a drill i think. not sure tho

if you have a fairly square, fairly flat chunk you'll be alright. If you're looking for a simple, cheap, effective way, the crossdrilled on the front page seems like a good solution. If you've got yourself a CNC though the gemini spiral seems pretty popular.
