Well after tinkering around with my PSU volt mod, I rebooted my system accidently when I bumped the 12v POT when putting everything back together. Evidently I overvolted my system and the PSU shut off. Well after rebooting again, what's this? I don't hear my HDD spinning. I checked all the connectors. Still nothing. Tried different PSU molexs and zip. Not even my volt meter registers anything. I don't know if something got fried but this thing seems gone.

I had a lot of information on that HDD that I was going to be moving to my laptop today but my luck never goes that way. 13 gigs of Movies and some very important pics and word documents. *sigh*

Looks like I am on a laptop for a while.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get power back to that drive? My DVD burner still powers up fine.

You could try replacing the controller PCBA. You will need another HDD of the same size, model and preferrably the same firmware as a donor. Assuming the servo and actuator isn't blown, you should be ale to get the data.
