C2d setup...need suggestions on motherboard and ram

Need a little help deciding on the motherboard and ram. Due to the current price of ram im debating whether i need 2 gigs. I might overclock the 6600 a little bit, nothing extreme but who knows . This computer will be used primarily for gaming so i want it to last for a while. Any suggestions on what to get for the mem (both 1gig and 2gigs) and motherboard would be appreciated. Im not going to use crossfire or sli, so i dont need either of those features on the board. For the price id like to keep it under a grand but thats not possible because id need a motherboard and ram for $200 and i dont really feel like buying anything from ECS So the total for the ram and motherboard im hoping can stay under three hundred for a good motherboard and a gig and probablly $400 for a motherboard and 2gigs.

If your serously not considering OCing the thing then you can buy a Asus P5B-E, or a Gigabyte GS3.

I would recommend the Gigabyte over any Asus. I tried to sell my Asus P5B on Ebay, I even had a Northbridge cooler on it, and was selling it for super cheap. Not one person bid on it

Its a great motherboard if you want to run everything stock, or slighly OCed.

I hear the Asus P5B-E is a good overclocker, though I shun Asus for their bad business behavior and customer support. I own a Gigabyte GS3 that I am returning to NewEgg for a DQ6, but I am interested in overclocking.

That leaves me recommending the Gigabyte DS3 for you. If you really dont want to OC, and you dont want to play games buy the Graphics version of the intel chipset. If you want a 3-D videocard, then buy the P version.
