I'm currently massing parts for a new build, but I have a couple questions, or rather am looking for opinions. I am getting an acrylic case and I dont want all the wires flying all over the damn place, but dont wanna try to hide them either, so i was considering placing a couple copper strips or wires along the bottom that I could wire the fans and any lights to with just clips. so the wires would be completely limited to falling down the side of the case and clipping to these strips, so that the main area inside the case never sees a pair of cables running through it other than the sata/ide/psu power cables, which are all going to be uv green wrapped.

a second question, I've noticed people dont like multiple rail psu's which i understand, but is it possible to just combine the leads and add each rails amp capacity to a single cable, thereby gaining one single large 12v line?

Sounds like a good idea just make sure that the two strips are relatively far apart so that if you drop a screw or any other metal part on them, you are not going to short them out. I would also cover the strips w/ clear paint, or maybe a sheet of thin acrylic. How were you planning on "clipping" the fan wires to the flat copper traces?

not entirely sure on how i wanna do that yet, simple alligator clips would work for portability.

Just came from home depot and thought of something.

Track Lighting!

Of course the full size tracks are way too big to be used inside a PC but maybe there are miniature versions, or maybe one can be fabricated.

I like screw terminals for power distrubution

What I would do is instead of going to all the trouble of cutting up your power cords, run chanels and make all of you cabling look neat. You would be suprised how much cleaner it makes a case look than having it all hidden.

Also you don't create a large 12v line doing that you still have a couple of small lines that may or may not have better power distrubution across all of them.
