is it possible to hook my desktop PC up to my laptop with wireless with a ethernet cable and use the internet on my desktop?

Shelnutt2 said:Nope, problem with that is that a cross over cable allows for full duplex, data to be sent both ways while a standard network only allows one way transfers...a router though takes care of that as it makes the changes so you can use a patch cable.

daunsociable said:the thing is my wireless is connected to my moms comp on the other side of the house, so i cant run a cable from there to here, and my laptop is an apple, so i cant play games online with it, so instead of dishing 50 bucks for a wireless adapter for my desktop or buying a DSL modom(which i will probably wind up doin in the future. can afford one now) just spend a couple bucks on a cable and route it threw the laptop
