I have some aluminum in my garage and I'm too cheap to buy a little piece of copper for 2 bucks and pay 8 for shipping, so...
can I use the aluminum in my garage as a cold plate instead of getting more copper. Also I can get really thin layers of copper and soldier them together if that will work better than the aluminum. BTW thnx for answer all my questions I have posted in the past few days.

Yes, the aluminum coldplate will work, just not as well as a copper one. I highly doubt that soldering lots of thin plates or copper will work very well. Solid metal seems to transfer heat the best.
