I am going to purchase a heatsink + fan for a 750 duron, which i might overclock later. I know of the thermalright sk6, but it's 42 bucks. I saw the volcano 2, at 10 bucks, can anyone tell me the difference between these two? Obviously the sk6 is better, but is it worth the 42 bucks? Anyone know how it compares to the volcano? By the way, the 10 bucks offer for the volcano is from directron.com. The website is here. http://www.directron.com/duo4627.html Anyone tell me if entire deal is shady or something wrong w/purchasing that volcano? Or should i just stick it out and by the sk6?? I might swap the duron for a highe athlon l8er. If anyone can help, please add your experiences w/either of these heatsinks.

My honest opinion is that - NO the SK6 is not worth the premium it is fetching. Especially, not in your case.

The reason the SK6 is retailing for the amount it is, is simply because it is the performance leader. (Under the right circumstances)

If you're looking for the best bang for your buck the Golden Gate (Gladiator) is still the best.

For half the cost ($20.00) of the SK6 you get a great cooler. The link above is the Golden Gate with a 30cfm fan.

For $5.00 more you can get the 38cfm fan. Personally, I find the noise the 38cfm fan delivers to be too annoying.

The Thermaltake Volcano II, is by no means a "bad" heatsink for basic cooling. I wouldn't do a lot of overclocking with one.

yeah, definately golden gate over volcano 2 although I am anxious to see what a Volcano 5 with a delta will be able to do.

Is there much of a difference in price/performance between the gladiäwhatever and the vantec cck or something like that. I've been reading around and it's supposed to be great. Comparing to the glaciator??? Do you happen to know anything about it?
