Hey all, I would like to hear all of your opinions that what should I buy for my upgrade. I can say I'm pretty newbie to computer stuffs and I don't know what to buy, but I do know how to build a PC. Can you all please tell me which kind of build fits me best at BEST VALUE for now (that means not top-of-the-line stuffs like FX-51 or P4 EE)

This is my current system:

-P4 2.0 Ghz 423 pin (Yes I didn't type it wrong, 423 pin not 478)
-ECS P4VXMS Motherboard that only supports 168 pin memory @ 133mhz (I think PC100)
-1 stick of 512mb unknown brand memory @ 100mhz or 133mhz
-Gigabyte Radeon 9600xt 128 mb

What I'm planning to get:

Option #1
-Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0E GHz 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache, HT @ $217 from newegg
- Probably ABIT "IS7" from Newegg (Not sure what to get that is why I ask you guys)
-2 sticks of some brand's 512mb ram that runs dual channel well.

Option #2
-AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 1 MB L2 Cache OEM @ $218
-Probably ASUS "K8V SE Deluxe" @ $118
-2 sticks of 512mb ram

Ok both builds are about the same price, I don't know which performs better but I'm sure you guys know these stuffs, please tell me which should I upgrade or tell me YOUR OWN build that fits me best.

I'm not considering overclocking the memory or CPU since I have no clue how it could be done unless I learned it someday...maybe I will learn it soon..

I don't play video games that much from now, I only play Warcraft 3 and UT2k4, and I will play Doom3 in the future, I'm not a big fps gamer. I mostly have Windows Media Player on, MSn messgenr, AIM, Anti virus, some other programs and about 3 firefox on at same time with music playing and probably downloading and playing game at the same time. I'm willing to spend what has best value for now. Thanks

I would lean for the option #2 but I believe you are refering to a socket 754 A64 so it would only have single channel DDR so in that case the option #1 would be higher performance.
