I guys, I got problem pushing my multiplier more than 8.5 ... please help me.

I'm using hardware as below. with a Duron 750... after unlock my CPU... I manage to set the multiplier till 8.5... but when I set it to 9.... when boot... it show 100X7.0 ..which is only 700MHz.... what wrong with it?

to unlock my chip... I join all the circuit at L1... is that all i need to do? did I miss anything?

beside temp of CPU and stability.... what else should I pay attention to when OC?

thanks

MSI Geforce2 MX 32Mb (the chip is quite hot)
Duron 750MHz

If you connected the L1's with a pencil, you could try to redo it. I had a similar problem the first time I unlocked my duron, but after redoing the penciltraces, it worked out ok.

Thanks Justy303!
Thanks Bender.

I guess that's the problem I'm facing. I did the L1 connection again and I was manage to go beyond 8.5.... but good thing doesn't last. after some effort of OC... and I face the same problem again. so I tried to connect the L1 again... but it seem not working this way.

here is something I planned to do... what do u guys think? pls give me some opinion and suggestion.

I believe that it;s still something wrong with the L1 connection. I would like to remove that pencil connection with eraser and redo it again... would that be possible? will it turn up to be a short curcuit( means all the 8 points connect to each other bcoz of pencil everywhere?

Thanks for your time and knowledge.

for a permanent fix on the L1 bridging I'd clean it with acetone and alcohol then invest in some defogger repair paint from your local auto store
apply that with a needle or other small tool, make sure the paint trails are touching, let the paint settle for a day to make sure and you should have a permanent fix for your O/Cing needs

I used a piece of solder wire and cliped it with wire cutters for a sharp point and rubbed it in............ works great.
