can't defrag?

i try to defrag i leave it there for hours and it keeps sayinf 1% compacting... my computer specs are below

I can't think of anything hardware-wise that would cause it, so I'd try new sofware. Have you tried downloading other defrag software like Diskkeeper, O&O, or others?

Disable antivirus. Have you run scandisk first? WinXP isn't as picky....but I know for win9x machines it's almost easier to run defrag in safe mode.

my antivirus is always disable.... i can run scandisk fine...
