I've had very poor results with this motherboard.. Can't sucessfully get the fsb over 150 for the life of me.. Listed down below are my full system specs.. Can someone please help me before I Bring it back to Fry's Electronics giving it another 2-3 days max...
Epox EP-8K7A+ revision 1.0
Vcore set to +.2 v = 1.94Vcore
Ddr set to +.3 v = 2.8V
Amd 1.2 w 266 fsb Axiar stepping
Crucial pc2100 256mb x 2= 512mb
Win 2k w/ sp2 installed
Enermax EG451P-VE 431 watt total power 44amps on the +5v lead.. running seti@home 24/7 using motherboard monitor 5.08 reports that my +5v is at 4.93 to 4.95 (it fluctuates)
Thermalright Sk-6 w/ 7000 rpm delta copper heatsink was lapped with 600,1000,1200,and 2000 grit sandpaper (wetsanded)
Cpu temps are 102f running seti 24/7

I've tried like 4-5 diffrent ram settings in the bios, but currently the auto settings are the only ones that works for fsb of 150..
got up to 153 fsb but had to use these settings 8-8-7-2-6-2.5-2
performance was rather slow.. sisoft sandra reported 661/885
for the memory benchmark
Has anyone else had severe problems getting thier fsb over 150 using the crucial ram?? These excact sticks were runnging fine on my Asus A7m266 @ 156fsb cas 2 just 2 weeks ago..
thanks Hope someone can shed some light on this subject.. I've already emailed Epox's support and they sent me this in return..

Dear User,

Thank you for your interest in EPoX products. Unfortunately tech support
from EPoX cannot offer official support for over clocking your processor or
hardware. Over clocking is done so at entirely your own risk to your
hardware and data.

But don't be distressed there are a wide selection of internet sites
dedicated to this subject that can offer solutions to almost any over
clocking question you may have. EPoX as a rule will not endorse any specific
site but if you do a quick search from Yahoo.com or Google.com you can find
many (examples Amdzone.com, Anandtech.com, or Tomshardware.com)

Thank you for your understanding

Best Regards,

Seems like a "COP OUT" to me for thier already widely known problems for this mobo..

150 dang that is good i wish i could get that high i can't get any better then 134 anything over that my system will start to lock up. Can anyone tell me why i am running crucial pc 2100.

Honestly, since when was 150 bad? OK, so one or two reviewers may have got up to 160 or whatever on a board, but then when sending out review samples the manufacturer might send out the boards it know performs well. Plus, the reviewers generally have the luxury of having other top-drawer components so that the mobo is the only determining factor - having hdd's, graphics cards, RAM etc that will handle very high fsb speeds has to help. The mobo's only rated for 133MHz remember, and I see a lot of people running at about 145 - so 150 is definitely doing pretty damn well. I think you might need to lower your expectations, painful though it may be.

Even if the mobo is stopping you getting higher on the fsb, 150 is still good like I said. Don't worry about it, accept what you have :)

Does the raid not OC as well as the non raid? Seems like some people got higher but there were on the 8k7a... At the same time though 150fsb is not bad...

Well I don't know what excactly happened but my 8K7A+ is now rock stable over 155 fsb at cas 2!!! 8) 8) This freaks me out though.. I am now able to run these settings 8-8-8-2-2-2-2 and I know for certain yesterday that it wouldn't do that at 148fsb I think taking out the "second stick" of crucial pc2100 256 mb made the biggest diffrence.. I burned it in alone last night at 150 fsb with the same settings listed above.. My memory scores are much higher as well 703/944 as reported in sisoftsandra TE I know for certain my 1.2ghz Axiar /w266fsb processor can handle more.. Got her up to 1475 now and she wants more!! Using 2.02 Vcore Temps are 109f running Seti 24/7 w/ a Sweet looking "lapped Thermalright Sk-6 and a 7,000 rpm delta" 2.8v for the ddr dimms.. 5+ lead is constantly at 4.94-4.98v since adding a Enermax EG465-VE 431 watt powersupply 44 amps on the +5v lead!! ( this thing is a beast!!)
To get any more Mhz out of this Axiar I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to switch to watercooling 8) 8) well any ideas on a sweet watercooling solution???? Money Isn't a problem here I'm preparared to spend 200-400 bucks for a sweet setup..
Thanks for all your help guys
This forum rocks!! 8) 8)
