I've had very poor results with this motherboard.. Can't sucessfully get the fsb over 150 for the life of me.. Listed down below are my full system specs.. Can someone please help me before I Bring it back to Fry's Electronics giving it another 2-3 days max...
Epox EP-8K7A+ revision 1.0
Vcore set to +.2 v = 1.94Vcore
Ddr set to +.3 v = 2.8V
Amd 1.2 w 266 fsb Axiar stepping
Crucial pc2100 256mb x 2= 512mb
Win 2k w/ sp2 installed
Enermax EG451P-VE 431 watt total power 44amps on the +5v lead.. running seti@home 24/7 using motherboard monitor 5.08 reports that my +5v is at 4.93 to 4.95 (it fluctuates)
Thermalright Sk-6 w/ 7000 rpm delta copper heatsink was lapped with 600,1000,1200,and 2000 grit sandpaper (wetsanded)
Cpu temps are 102f running seti 24/7
I've tried like 4-5 diffrent ram settings in the bios, but currently the auto settings are the only ones that works for fsb of 150..
got up to 153 fsb but had to use these settings 8-8-7-2-6-2.5-2
performance was rather slow.. sisoft sandra reported 661/885
for the memory benchmark
Has anyone else had severe problems getting thier fsb over 150 using the crucial ram?? These excact sticks were runnging fine on my Asus A7m266 @ 156fsb cas 2 just 2 weeks ago..
thanks Hope someone can shed some light on this subject.. I've already emailed Epox's support and they sent me this in return..
Dear User,
Thank you for your interest in EPoX products. Unfortunately tech support
from EPoX cannot offer official support for over clocking your processor or
hardware. Over clocking is done so at entirely your own risk to your
hardware and data.
But don't be distressed there are a wide selection of internet sites
dedicated to this subject that can offer solutions to almost any over
clocking question you may have. EPoX as a rule will not endorse any specific
site but if you do a quick search from Yahoo.com or Google.com you can find
many (examples Amdzone.com, Anandtech.com, or Tomshardware.com)
Thank you for your understanding
Best Regards,
Seems like a "COP OUT" to me for thier already widely known problems for this mobo..
