Well I'm royally ticked off right now because I won this brand spanking new system as follows:

AMD 1.2 GHZ TBird 266 FSB on a GA-7DX motherboard
256 MB PC2100 Ram
IBM ATA100 7200 40.0 GB Hard Drive
Geforce 2 GTS

Now in win2k I cannot get the soundcard (Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital or Hercules Fortissimo II or even the onboard) to work at all. The drivers for all of them install properly (except for the SBLIVE ones which does some weird ****. According to the tech I won it from @ this massive LAN, the soundcard works fine in windows 98 (the SBLIVE that came with it). The onboard soundcard is disabled in the bios and I enabled it to try and get it to work with win2k. Any thoughts on how I can fix it?

Hello,

You did try this motherboard with Windows 98 right? if not, try it. Make sure to get a new software update for your sound card for Win2k. You should reinstall ga-7dx driver that in the CD and get update version of 4-in-1 drive. If not that problem, take all the pci cards out and change you graphic card the standard graphic card mode and reinstall sound card again. how about change to another pci slot. if that not help much i think it a Win2k problem or sound card not good.
