Hi,

Just thought about buying a new state of the art fsb 200 mobo + cpu.

Now i did read that the socket 478 will be replaced by intel mid of 2004 by Socket T (475 pins). Is that true?

If thats true there's no big upgrade path for those new 200fsb-stuff, maybe it's more intelligent going over to amd board?..

What you think?

Max

thanks for info. Looks like mobos should anyway be replaced fast nowadays, as chipsets are becoming more important. f.i. a Athlon 3000 works on an old amd-board, but looses lot of power i think.

Ok guys:) no problem I'll get cheap IC-7 Board (not IC-7-G) and see in 2 years again what's around on market.

thanks Max

It all depends on your financial situation I think. If you want all the new serial features, it might not be a bad idea to upgrade to a new 875P/865PE board now.

If you wait till later this year to upgrade, you might find yourself behind already. :(

Kinda falls into that personal preference thing. If you always ponder upgrading, you will never be upgrading. :D
